Lewis & Grace’s Wedding at New House Farm | Lake District Wedding Photography

Lewis and Grace’s wedding at New House Farm was a proper Lake District wedding day from start to finish — relaxed, a little unpredictable weather-wise, and full of great moments to photograph.

The day started with bridal preparations at New House Farm. One of the best things about the venue is how calm everything feels in the morning. With views across the surrounding countryside, it’s a great place to ease into the day before everything properly begins.

Once everyone was ready, we headed over to St Mary's Church where Lewis and his groomsmen were already greeting guests, whilst the nerves started to build.. The church itself is a beautiful little spot tucked away in the Lake District, but what made it even more meaningful was the connection Grace’s family had to it. Previous generations of her family had also been married there, which added a lot of importance to the ceremony.

Right after the ceremony, which is my favourite part of a wedding day, jumping right into confetti before what I consider the true start of a wedding day. The formalities are done, now time to enjoy yourselves, where the energy from the couple and all their guests is at it’s peek, We then made the most of a dry weather and headed into the Lake District for a little couple session before the rain arrived. The conditions were ideal for photography at this point, bright but overcast, with soft light across the water and fells.

Not long after, the rain started to come in, so we headed back to New House Farm to rejoin the guests and spend some time with their little pup, Frog, who definitely kept everyone entertained throughout the drink reception.

Even with the rain, the atmosphere never changed. Everyone just got on with enjoying the day, which honestly sums up the best kind of weddings to photograph. No stress about the weather, no forcing anything, just people having a genuinely good time.

This was a full day of photo and film for me, finishing at 11pm, and I’m glad I stayed for it all because the evening ended with a seriously good party. Once the dance floor opened up, it stayed busy all night, and it was the perfect way to finish the day.

Lewis and Grace, thanks again for having me along to capture everything. It was a pleasure spending the day with you both, and I’m so pleased you had such an amazing day!
